The MCS 1000 Irrigation Control System

The MCS 1000 is a product that regulates water usage in automated irrigation systems and is designed to prevent or reduce over-watering of subject landscapes.

  The MCS 1000 operates by controlling the amount of watering time as pre-set by an irrigation system timer or controller. The MCS 1000 over-rides the timer/controller whenever the system “senses” there is sufficient moisture in the soil to promote proper growth.

For example, assume a timer/controller is pre-set to water a section of landscape for 40 minutes. If the soil becomes sufficiently irrigated to promote proper growth after only 10 minutes, the MCS 1000 will prevent the additional 30 minutes of watering time, thus saving both water and energy.

The MCS 1000 Product Features

• Zone-by-Zone application: As each zone of a landscape receives sufficient irrigation, the MCS 1000 shuts off the water in that zone and prevents further and unnecessary watering.

• Individual unit moisture sensitivity settings. Each MCS 1000 unit can be easily adjusted to respond to as much or little moisture as dictated by the demographics of its respective irrigation zone. For example, a shady zone will generally require less irrigation (therefore a higher moisture sensing setting) than a zone exposed to bright sunlight requiring more irrigation (therefore a lower moisture sensitivity setting).
